The Five corners is one of the biggest and more famous crossroads in Sofia. His name comes from the fact that the roads that are gathering at this place are forming five corners.
Pette kiosheta is strategically located near the National Palace of Culture (NDK), nearby are Banya Madara swimming pool, Russian memorial, the Military museum was just 50 meters away from this crossroad, but they moved it in Oborishte Quarter, next to the Millitary academy. Now on its place there is a new building known by the locals as the Military NDK (National Palace of Culture), despite the fact that the building is not operational.
The roads that form the Five corners (Pette kiosheta) crossroad are: Hristo Botev Blvd. (goes to Macedonia Square and the central railway station), Skobelev Blvd. (goes to Russian Memorial, Tsar Boris III Blvd. and Mall of Sofia), Praga Blvd. (goes to the Military Academy hospital complex), Patriarh Evtimii Blvd. (comes from “Popa”, crosses the park in front of NDK and Vitosha shopping street) and Vasil Levski Blvd. (that goes under NDK and then next to Sofia University and the Levski Memorial.)
